Summary Presentation

Chapters 3,9,10

This presentation was eye opening about being a leader I have never had the opportunity to be a leader or I would always say no because did not know how to properly be a leader. Now that I have learn about being a leader, I am putting it to work and so excited to learn more about communicating and being a leader. I never expected this class to be so interested and I am learning something that is commonly use. I think all of groups did a great job with their presentation, they work good together communicated and use what they where learning to action with their presentation.

Group1

       Chapter 3 talking about Intercultural Communication the understanding of culture and the communication. Witch is talking about the system of share values and belief, attitude, and norms. Witch goes into the values which means the understanding of right and wrongs. That goes into the understanding of different cultures that have different customs. It also talks about the sex orientation, religion witch they are important. There presentation did awesome over all they explain how intercultural communication is used and the right and wrong way to do it and how important it is.  I also love how they gave real life examples and that made me understand more the chapter and how important culture communication is.

Group2

       Chapter 9 Communication in groups it talks about how it is important to have a good communication in groups so they can have a good and effective working space. To have a good communication that will lead to a great work environment there has to be honesty, must be upright, respectful, and honorable. Also trust your member of your group in there kills and knowledge to get to the goal or solve a problem. Then bring the members of the group together and talk about the goal and expectation and come up with a solution with collaborative work and trust. Groups 2 explain this chapter very well I understand everything, and they explain everything in detail. Gave real life examples that I loved and was helpful.                                




Group3

     My group chapter 10 Group leadership and problem solving; as a leader you need to know to motivate, influences your member to achieve their goal, lead your group to success. You have to set your goal and set a task for each member and have a behavior that will help your group complete your goal by being supportive , be committed to the group goal , keep track of the goal , encourage your member. To have an affective meeting need to have an agenda it will help groups keep in track. We need to identify the problem, analyze the problem then brainstorming where there is no judgment or criticizing making the member feel free to express the solution to the goal without being judge. Come to an effective decision as a group.  communicate about the solution then evaluate the problem solution. My group did great we communicated, we achieve the goal.

 Presentation 1 Review To start this off I wanna say I believe every group did an amazing job and we all worked very hard. group one started off these presentations with chapter 3 in the textbook. They discussed intercultural communication which in other terms is how do you speak to people from different ethnicity's and beliefs. they started off  by explaining to us what dominant culture and biculturalism is. They then quickly discussed themes like cultural identity by going over race, ethnicity, and gender. A couple of my favorite part include when they go into power distance, potential barriers, and open-mindedness. My Group Overview

Group 2 made me realize  how self  cognizant   somebody  can be about their culture  since  it is  simple  to feel like you don’t fit into society.
