                                                                 Summary of Presentations   


Group 1 presentation was about communication perspective. This presentation is all about communication. In the first section it teaches about context and settings as they operate in communication. They explained well the communication process, they also identified the characteristics of communication. The group also talks about dominant cultures and examples of dominant culture in our society, and other factors that play a role in our society like race, ethnicity, sex, gender, religion, and etc. .They also showed the assesses messages using the principles of ethical communication. Lastly, they showed how to develop communication, how to create a plan. You must know your audience and speak up when you want to get a point across or ask a question. Overall, the group did a great job. 




Group 2 presentation was about perception of self and others. They first talked about the fundamental principles of the perception process. Then they explained how self-perception is formed and maintained. After that they talked about how self-perception influences communication. Afterwards the group describe three ways we form perceptions of others. Lastly, they listed five communication strategies to improve perceptions of others. Overall, the group did a great job showing all the info and explaining. they talk about how groups are formed in naturally and the types of groups that are formed like families. The group also touches on the characteristics of a healthy group, like team based activities, being cohesive, having norms and also having group rules, and they told about presenting ideas to the group and the process of forming a group and what traits are good in groups to connect. 



Group 3 which was my group, we talked about group leadership and problem solving. We first described how the leadership functions groups. Then we described how to run effective meetings with your groups. We also explained how to engage in the systematic problem solving. We showed different types of group communication formats. My group also spoke about different types of leadership responsibilities, we talked about different things you should do before giving a group presentation like having a checklist. And how groups should decide on things, we also talked about group dynamics and how presenting should be as a group. .Lastly, we showed how to evaluate group effectiveness using key criteria. Overall, we did a killer job at explaining everything, and I believe we were the best group that presented.

 Presentation 1 Review To start this off I wanna say I believe every group did an amazing job and we all worked very hard. group one started off these presentations with chapter 3 in the textbook. They discussed intercultural communication which in other terms is how do you speak to people from different ethnicity's and beliefs. they started off  by explaining to us what dominant culture and biculturalism is. They then quickly discussed themes like cultural identity by going over race, ethnicity, and gender. A couple of my favorite part include when they go into power distance, potential barriers, and open-mindedness. My Group Overview

Group 2 made me realize  how self  cognizant   somebody  can be about their culture  since  it is  simple  to feel like you don’t fit into society.
